过去分词作定语：
过去分词是动词的一种非限定形式，兼有动词、副词和形容词的特征，可以在句中作定语、表语、宾语补足语或状语。
1．单个过去分词及由过去分词构成的复合形容词作定语一般放在所修饰的词的前面；过去分词短语作定语一般放在所修饰的词的后面，相当于一个(从句谓语为被动或完成时的)定语从句。被修饰的词是分词所表示的动作的承受者；在逻辑上它们是动宾关系。
China is not a developed country.
中国还不是发达国家。
Last Monday our class went on an organized trip to a forest to study the wildlife.(organized trip＝trip which was organized)

2．过去分词、动词不定式的被动式和动词-ing形式的被动形式都可作定语，但表示的时间概念不同。过去分词表示已经完成的行为，可以和表示过去的时间状语连用；动词-ing形式的被动式表示正在进行的被动行为，可以和 now 连用；动词不定式的被动式往往表示即将进行的行为，可以和表示将来的时间状语连用。
The problem discussed at yesterday's meeting is very important.

The problem being discussed now is very important.
正在讨论的问题很重要。
The problem to be discussed at tomorrow's meeting is very important.

3．并非所有的定语从句都可以改为过去分词短语或动词的-ing 形式。

4．过去分词作定语与所修饰词之间存在两种意义关系：一是及物动词表被动意义(或已完成的被动动作)；二是不及物动词表示完成意义。
(1)表示被动和完成
the broken glass打碎了的杯子
(2)只表示完成不表示被动
fallen leaves落叶
现在分词作定语的用法：

（一）作定语
1.?动词现在分词单独作定语，通常放在所修饰词前。
例如：

2.现在分词短语作定语放在所修饰词的后面，意思和定语从句差不多。

3.?现在分词可相当于非限制性定语，常用逗号分开。
例如：

4.?有时现在分词可以和副词或名词构成复合词作定语。例如：
This?is?an?English-speaking?country.
